if you have a normal sized tank and actually need the car so you can't put off filling it for more than a few days then being hypervigilant might save you less than a dollar on the ~$25 it takes to fill it up.
my high school girlfriend's family used to drive like 10 minutes to get to the gas station with the best prices and i thought that was insane enough
