You are missing the context, anon. The world is a terrible and fallen place. Terrible thing can and will happen here, and Christians aren't exempt from that. However, we have peace in the hope and promise that our souls are saved, and that any hardships we endure on this earth are a flash, a passing instant, in the grand scheme of things and the eternity that awaits. God also does provide. Prayers are answered. Taking care of us in a general sense isn't the same thing as supernatural protection from any and all unfortunate events.

Remember, not many of the Judges, Prophets or Apostles died pleasant or peaceful deaths.

This fear and anxiety I feel.
Sometimes I wish I wasnt human.

This is not what catholics believe. Some christians are misguided (predestination), but in principle we believe that God wants to see all people in heaven, but they must accept. If they don't they can't be in God's presence and that is called hell. If they want to, they may be punished for their sins, but the punishment is not eternal and they go to heaven.

None of us are, anon, take comfort in that. We're all in the same boat. Saved because we are loved, not because we are special or deserve it, 'merely' because we are loved and were open to that love.

That's a good way to see it.
This is what I picture these days. Only because 40k maybe what got me thinking about God and Jesus and what role they play in my life.
The more I read, the more I saw bits of the Bible in this game. Which I know it took a bunch from. The way the Imperium, the Marines and the Guard stand against things bigger than they are. The belief they have. Which was beautiful to me. Bit by bit it made me remember what life with God was, what believing in his love is and that the Bible tells us to not fear the end becuase it is meant to happen.
Sometimes I break down from this fear and I thank God for some of the anons I find here, that words can be this powerful to help quell this nightmare within.
