I have gigabit with a fiber optic port installed in my wall, and get ~900Mbps up and down on various speed tests and can hit 250MB/s+ on certain CDN-based services I've used without any tinkering.
Getting a dedicated gigabit connection from one WAN service to another is a much more expensive matter, though.
