>>13911224You can make people care about anything online as long as you have a bit of charisma.
People love stories on the internet wether it’s about literal who ecelebs/internet personas, internet communities etc pretty much fantasy stuff that doesn’t matter and deserves to be mocked.
People are influenced by these sorts of stuff and posts online, wether it be on imageboards YouTube Facebook etc.
What happened in 2020-2021 with the whole qboomers storm and the BLM riots that costed 1-2b dollaroos shows what might happen in the future.
People getting manipulated by dumb stuff on the internet and unironically getting worked up over these insignificant things and and some people doing crazy actions in real life.
That's the fear, some governments have and it's understandable to some degree, america considers qanon and 8ch as terrorist organisations, who knows what will happen in the future.
Censorship will only become more prevalent on the internet as time goes on, and it will probably have some success in terms of de-escalating events.
And just limiting speech in general to make people act less hyper and more serious and normal online.
I don’t think it’s a massive issue but it will be a bit of a problem in the future.
