Christianity, on an allegorical level, is rooted in the idea that human beings can choose to live a life of love and grace and harmony with other living things, symbolized by allowing Christ into your heart. Humans were but simple animals, until we realized the nature of death, and could then make informed choices on good and evil, love and hate, life and death. Humans have the choice to embrace selfishness and greed and cold hearted materialism, but we can also reject those negative aspects of our nature. It's in our control. Why haven't you rejected them? Why haven't you embraced compassion and charity and kindness? Why do you reject Christ?
