It's hard to put the concept of into words without giving the wrong implications. It's not so much "one style of voice" or "one type of voice" or even "only one voice at a time", but I'd say that it's going a bit too far to say "multiple egos". More like different facets of a single identifiable ego, much like how people can display different reactions and personalities depending on their emotional and mental state. I'm not any sort of expert in psychology, so I don't want to risk using the incorrect terminology here and giving you the wrong idea.

I'll admit, there's a little bit of primal dread there at the thought of not being a whole being but rather the sum of my parts. As in, the fear that this consciousness that I view as "me" is rather just a small insignificant part of some incomprehensibly greater whole of which I have little understanding or control. A greater whole that might not even comprehend or recognize "me" as an existence, in a way akin to the individual man and society.
Holy fuck, I'm enjoying the insight through this conversation but at the same time this is probably not the most appropriate thing to be mulling over.
