>>14013717OP is full of shit. You guys can DYOR but here's a quick rundown:
- Liver Detox and Glutathione Precursor. Shown to help with fatty liver disease.
- Improved lung function in compromised patients such as COPD or Penumonia.
- May help with immune problems and/or mitochondrial dysfunction
- Greatly speeds recovery from common cold / flu (Have tested this. Great stuff, wish I knew about it 10 years ago).
- General Mucolytic- works as a sinus decongestant on par or better than pseudoephedrine (The stuff you have to go behind the counter for)
- Has Anti-Inflammatory effects
- May improve insulin metabolism
- Is a weak chelating agent, can help remove Heavy Metals like Lead and Cadmium from cells
- May help with some types of psychological issues due to GSH restoration and increased NAC's action of increasing cell permeability*
- Substantially improved Covid 19 outcomes, and reduced the need of mechanical ventilation by a very large margin (
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34182881/) Yet basically no one decided to study it further (???)
- May help with neurological and addiction disorders, as well as autism symptom reduction when taken in the 2000+ mg a day range.
- Possible anti-cancer effects
- It turns into Di-Nac if let to oxidize, which actually helps clear blood clots (lol)
It does a lot of good stuff. Enough good stuff in fact that if I ever become giga rich, I'm putting it into an energy drink and getting it into the dietary supply for as many people as possible. Unless you have cysteuria (1 in 7000 people) NAC is EXTREMELY safe. In the 80s it was even used to help people with HIV, slowing the progress of the virus to HIV by some margin. Even Fauci (yes, THAT Fauci) lead a team who tested NAC for 2 weeks and said it "didn't work" while they were developing AZT into an Aids treatment- Except NAC is a "slow" supplement and takes months to really show an effect and/or repair body damage.
