>>14036983>>14036983 Berserk does not have better art per se... Different people have different perceptions of what is beautiful. It and Dungeon Meshi have a similar level of detail in both art and worldbuilding, so I'd they're the same
The story is great, I prefer it over Mob Psycho too. Even though it takes place on just one island - it depicts a relatively small event, which in reality is significant enough to shape the world's future. It is a great addition to the epic genre!
What you call 'filler' helps readers immerse themselves into both the fantasy world and it's culture, and the party: the relationships between members, their individual goals & personalities and how they change over time.
Once again let me accentuate that different people like stuff for different reasons. Some people only care about how it looks, others just want romance or ecchi... but I want worldbuilding above all things! I like stories of war or great adventure, stories where we can see the world change little by little. Perhaps stories where drama is not on a personal level, but on a universal level. Dungeon Meshi may not fit all of the former, but it is still one of the best manga there has ever been - in the top 50 at the -very- least!
I'm not proofreading this essay so sorry in advance if it sounds cringy...
