Pitocin is a synthetic oxytocin given to mothers during childbirth
without the knowledge of the mother, it was first synthesized in 1953
and it is the most abused drug in the world today, it is estimated that
its use ranges from 12 to 60%. Pitocin inhibits the effects of natural
oxytocin, it inhibits the bonding between mother and child and it disrupts the development of the oxytocin system in the brain and the
bonding behaviors later in life.
