It killed the Internet and made it an unhappy place. Back in the day we used to have these things called forums. We would go to message boards on our favorite sites. People had a reason to learn web design and make things. Everyone had their own little unique culture. We no longer have that. Every sub answers to the same basic guidelines of their entire site. Mods are just stooges who can come and go but they don’t have the same power over a community as say a page admin from 10-15 years ago. There is nothing creative, original, or funny. 4chan at least had this going for it still with memes and shitposts.
