yes and no. there is a third option of putting in the extra effort to surround yourself with people who share your interests, however it's tough to find enough people you are compatible with in that regard, especially in your limited pool of people locally. online friends can kind of fill the void, but you will never get to hang out with them consistently and share daily experiences with them. life is all about how much effort you are willing to put into a problem in order to find a solution. this one happens to require a fuck ton of effort for a good solution. giving up and being alone is easy, but god is it soul crushing.
