My opinion is that the monotheist movement in ancient Israel was a later development which gradually came to absorb the old Canaanite pantheon. I don't hold a grudge against monotheists, it's when Jews and Christians refuse to acknowledge their pagan roots and claim religious supremacy that they are in the wrong.
