>>14127581 so kindly explained, you can download an OS from the interwebs and "burn" it to a cd/dvd or usb. Doing so is not that complicated, you just need some software and an .iso file of the OS you want.
Step 1 would be downloading the OS. If you're able, torrent it. That verifies the integrity of the file and is usually faster.
Step 2 is downloading and installing Balena Etcher. You can get it from
balena.io/etcherStep 3 is burning the media. Insert your media, open up etcher and follow the instructions on screen. They make it very friendly to use.
Once thats done you have a bootable USB/DVD, easy as can be. I'm still lurking so hmu with any questions.
