well that's fine the book was written many years ago and the an has the benefit of having all sorts of things that happen later on in concrete detail already so it would be expected that they can improve on the original work in these areas no? it's like how 90% of manga is downright appalling visually at the beginning but adaptations can use the art style from later chapters right from the beginning instead

it's funny they say this because r/dnd is full of people asking for advice because they live in the top image from one perspective or another. what people forget is that dnd, like vidya, is often a tool for escapism by autists. the only thing that you need to do to have the bottom experience is conduct normal conversation with each other but that task is absolutely insurmountable for a lot of people
