You don't see what is on Discord
If someone wants to see what anime is being discussed on /a/, all he has to do is click on the board. He does not have to make an account. he does not have to join a server. He does not need to get an invite. He can see the discourse happen between people. It is open for everyone to see. Most of those principles apply to reddit and traditional forums as well. But not to Discord. Discord should not be used for discourse like you see on /a/. Discord should not be used to share images like boorus or 4chan. Let it stay limited to what it is useful for: Voice chat, maybe streaming, maybe keeping in touch with friends. And that is it. Everything else withholds valuable content from the general public
