Heyo anonymous, it's been a bit hasn't it? Pull up a seat, please. Let's get comfy ITT.

When it comes to nature, do you enjoy it? If so, what aspects do you enjoy most? If not, why do you dislike it? Me personally, I'm more than happy to go on a nice long hike, but I can't enjoy camping for the life of me. If I do camp, then the focus has to be on something else, with the campsite only being there for food and sleep.

I needed this tonight. Thank you. Always loved Horse With No Name from the time I was tiny. I've always been drawn to the desert. Used to be one of my nonsense dreams to want to build a little Earthship somewhere in the southwest. I don't think off the grid living is going to be a wise idea over the next few years though. Hopefully I'm wrong. Goats and chickens. I'd have a tough time slaughtering either but I could if I had to. Goat would be real hard. I love the big sky. I love feeling small. I've always been fairly large and it's nice to feel like a speck sometimes. Nothing existential, just a suspension of ego and a peace at the slowness. I don't know how I'm going to speed up again and I know I have to.

Man I love snow. It finally snowed in my area, and man is it pretty. Rather bright though, I must admit.
I remember going to Oregon in the middle of June and climbing Mt. Hood, it was insane seeing snow there in the middle of summer. It wasn't a lot, but it was still rather nice.

You'd honestly be surprised. Have you heard of Christopher Knight before? They say he was the last "true" hermit, but I'm not sure I believe that. He was able to make it just fine for years by living out in the middle of nowhere, living a hunter gatherer lifestyle. When winter came, he would sometimes steal some canned food from log cabins owned by rich people that had been built in his area. Unfortunately, he was arrested for this after those prudes decided to put up security systems. I might be wrong on a few things here, but he's definitely an interesting person to look into.

I know what you mean, there's something exciting about looking at a grandiose mountain or something that absolutely eclipses us in sheer size and scale. Something tangible too, something you can immediately see. Not space or far off things, albeit those can be just as fascinating.

We've been low on snow too this year. Usually it all comes in February, 6 week winter and then finished up by middle of March, and then chilly and damp until May when it suddenly becomes summer. I'll take the extended fall though.

I need a new line of work. Services are saturated and more and more are becoming money out = a chance at money in, and I can't compete. And I'm competing against hundreds of millions on a digital playing field meaning we're all in the same stadium in the world's largest battle royale. I'm watching even skilled friends struggle and bounce from startup to startup and I'm not as young as I used to be, and it's all overwhelming. Jump in the rapids and start swimming, because the growls from the jungle sound hungry, and they're getting closer.

Yeah, we've gone from getting snow in November when I was little to getting snow in late December, early January. Other than that, the rest is pretty similar. Snow melts around March or April, then it stays kinda cool until early May. Summer is hellfire here, though. The hottest day I recall was like 101 degrees Fahrenheit (38.3 Celsius for our euro friends).

Oh lord yeah, the job market is absolutely fucked and has been for a long while. It's like you said though, the only option is to just attempt to throw yourself in and see what happens. Nothing good will come by just waiting, yknow? I'm not the best person to be handing out this advice, and it seems like you have a realistic approach to things like that.

Man cold weather hiking is a blast. Hot weather just isn't my thing frankly, and not having to deal with it is nice. I haven't done it in awhile unfortunately, but eventually it'll happen.
Any environments you feel like you prefer? I'm a huge fan of the pacific northwest's forests, but the green mountains have some lovely terrain too. I've only been to those places once, so maybe I don't have enough experience with em to truly say.
