well it depends on your company, but generally yeah. i'd say 90% of places will give you off for christmas and thanksgiving with a lot also including 4th of july, but anything else is a total crapshoot. it's even so uncommon for us to get more than one day off that i forget the name for having monday/friday off because of a holiday on a tuesday/thursday. citizen's holiday or something?
because i've stopped myself in the middle of a sentence to ask people why they're handing me something when they had legitimate reason to do so and seen others do the same. someone would have to be really into what they're saying not to accept something wacky mindlessly
