You know where most microplastics in food come from? Soil contamination. Root vegetables, especially carrots, have the highest concentrations of microplastics out of most foodstuffs from before the moment they're even plucked out of the ground. Other sources include fruit trees which develop deep root systems, such as apples.
It's so shortsighted to think that you're avoiding this garbage by buying shit from the grocery store and putting it in a glass container. It's in the rain, the earth, etc. We're majorly fucked and people are giving themselves a false sense of security by saying "hurr, at least I didn't use a plastic container".
