It's honestly a really good premise for proving digital ownership in a secure and decentralized manner that's near-impossible to spoof, but fuck applying it to image hashes and shit kind of sabotaged the concepts legitimacy. The average retard sees it as "hurr, I'm buying a picture! millionaire soon!" when that's not what's happening at all. And of course, the detractors run with it, saying "hurr, I'm stealing your picture! fake money!".
The NFT craze has been a self-sabotaging phenomenon, like almost every step in blockchain technology. It's a fantastic premise but I'm worried about its future.
