In the 4th grail war, Lancelot showed off his ability to corrupt and dominate any weapon he touches. The sword he steals from Gilgamesh's Volley is STILL lancelot's sword as seen by his valnetine's CE, as are the guns, jet, and even the lamppost he dominated during the war. Zouken observed this corruption ability and saw its potential. In the timelines that lead to Fate and UBW routes, he ignores it, but in the Heaven's Feel timeline he thinks a little deeper; if Lancelot can take over anything that can be labeled a weapon, including random poles and vehicles... if you look at servants as nothing more than the weapons mages use to fight grail wars, what is to stop him from enslaving other servants to his will? The answer to that question is mana, something Kariya did not have. Over the next decade he would be hard at work turning his new heir into a high capacity mana battery that could properly make use of Lancelot's power to win a war by sheer overpowering of will.
Dark Sakura's abilities are a direct result of a special contract link to berserker Lancelot in the throne of heroes. She uses tendrils that ensnare and corrupt anything they touch - the same tendrils that flow from Lancelot's back. She's gone totally crazy - a side effect of inheriting Lancelot's Madness Enhancement. This relationship is why Prillya Sakura has such high synergy with the Lancelot class card. The same way Shiro using the Archer card was like 2nd nature to him, mindless puppet Lancelot install Sakura is the most terrifying and dangerous weapon in Julian's arsenal, because another her from another world already knows what its like to channel that power.
