as I said, there are obviously actual slippery slopes. causation exists; one thing can lead to another. that being said, an invocation the slippery slope doesn't stand on its own as an argument. that's why it's considered a fallacy. it's a lazy and reductionist form of argument where you ultimately avoid presenting actual evidence in favour of low-effort statements, e.g. "banning CP? what's next, banning porn?"
