>>14262247I think the thing about DaS3 reusing stuff is way overblown. Yeah, it less suprising to see the same recurring character archetypes like a crestfallen warrior, Patches, a murderer with a shotel etc. but that kind of tradition is present in their other games too. And returning locations are not really a problem in a sequel, there are not many of them and they play completely different. If anything, I think DaS3 is the most unique out of all Dark Souls games when it comes to art design and aesthetics because of the focus on horror elements, so it suprises me when people call it a DaS1 ripoff
That said, DaS3 really feels more like a product rather than a labor of love. I mean, a really well made and cohesive product, but the game doesn't seem to have as much depth with its linear progression, simplified RPG elements etc. Still a good game tho
