Every friendship has transactional elements, and I know a lot of admirable people say things like "surround yourself with success", but try to remember they usually say it when asked to say something and they're nervously trying to account for their life while on the hot seat, or sell you a coaching program. Normal people often turn out to be extraordinary in one way or another. You'll get a feel for people who are just passing through, but you might be surprised who you end up clicking with. Just keep an open heart!
