I have a bad habit of finding small but active youtube channels made by dedicated autists to little (or usually zero) views, then subscribing to them out of pity. Every time they upload I leave their new video on in the background with the volume really far down and like their videos afterwards. I just don't want them to feel like their effort is in vain, even if I'm their only audience and I don't even actually watch or care about their content.
Part of me feels like an asshole for essentially lying to them about there being an interest in what they're making, but the alternative of them realizing no one cares and giving up makes me feel worse.
