Global pandemics always happen in 3 waves of mutation with the last wave being least deadly but most virulent.
That is how Spanish Flu went from killing in 12hrs to being 'the flu" of yearly varieties.
Don't get it twisted though, this is only the 2nd wave. Historically, pandemics last 36 months.
