Bro's, I scoffed at the whole "safety razor" meme.
Until my fiancee bought me a whole set for christmas. I was using mach 54,000, 895.2 and disposable bic single blades. They all gave me little zit things/ingrowns and my face was left burning.
She bought me prorasso pre shave cream, a bar of shaving soap, badger hair brush, a ceramic lather mug, aftershave balm by Pinaud and a Merkur razor with a bunch of "Feather" blades.
It took one day to understand the angle and weight of the shaver to get a good shave. It real. It's more time consuming, but after only 2 passes, with and against, the shave is unreal. I've never felt this smooth. I know it sounds like a commercial, but it isn't a meme. The products are all good quality and really are worth it. The only issue, again, is you have to take your time or you'll slice your face.
