I used soap and moisturizer on my face, and it's much worse than the rest of my body where I used nothing.
I've learned now to only take baths, or showers every other day or every 3 days. I think you need that intermittant 2-3 day frequency, and let your skin bathe in its own oils the rest of the time which contain multiple vitamins and enzymes.
Quit washing everything off and replacing with store-bought moisturizers. Your skin needs to feel dry for a few minutes to stimulate its own oil production.
But if it's 'soap dry', it produces more sebum than it should in proportion to the rest of its natural oils. And there's residue in the soap which prevents the ceramides from forming a barrier-matrix.
After doing my routine, the deadened scars and leftover sun blisters start to exfoliate themselves upon exposure to a deep shower once a month.
