I saw a tv documentary with my mother the other day. It was about an adopted chinese girl from the USA visiting her biological parents in China.

Religion is bullshit and that guy is completely reasonable
If I ever have a kid ill tell him that no one knows if there is a God or not for sure but there likely is no God and no one knows for sure what happens when you die.

I've stepped away from identifying as an "atheist" because of militant anti-theists who use the same word. I'm very interested in religion and spiritualism from both a historical and social perspective. Religion has long been a cornerstone of civilization and I don't think we would have gotten this far without it.
I don't believe in any gods myself, but I do understand the need for belief and deep down I do kind of hope there's a good and loving one out there in the end. I'm not cruel or spiteful enough to feel the need to challenge the faith of others.

There's a lot of stuff to be on the watchout for, like inmoderate consumerism, the excessive pornographization of entertainment, and the existence of groups of people who like to manipulate others for selfish motives (doesn't matter if it's Donald Trump, Steve Jobs, or any run of the mill Discord cult leader), so I think it's best not to focus too much on any one potentially negative aspect of society and address every problem on its own.
