You need to destroy the purple orbs in the corruption biome, three will spawn the boss, each orb will drop something, if you are lucky you get weapon with a good modifier. If you lose to the boss, you can either destroy more orbs or summon it with a crafted item. If you lost to the boss, but got somewhat far, you should have some material from its segments, this should be enough to craft more powerful weapon yourself.
