yeah, i've never understood why people struggle with these two. i have a lot more identifying things like double consonants, elongated vowels, and diacritics both when speaking myself and trying to guess at how something is spelled by ear
i am surprised she mentioned devoiced u's though, that knowledge isn't total bare bones. would be more interesting if she mentioned that you can get a and o backwards depending on your accent, especially if it's an american one
