If you're not familiar with the concept, it's the idea there's a lot to history of which you can't be certain. There are relics of the time, writings, stories passed down, but we were never there.
I was thinking of things that are more generally referred to as mythological. Like old timey stories of gods and heroes.
And I was thinking about their modern replacements. And their appeals. Comics books and autismal fantasy lores. The Lords of the Rings. The warcrafts. Et cetera.
I think a lot of the appeal comes from the certainty. Despite their mythlogical details, there is no myth. Even though it's not real, the specifics are a certainty. It's called canon.
A lot of it builds on those old-timey stories too. It's all derivative. I guess those stories had a degree of certainty too.
