I've been reading Dune, and the amount of Arabian themes and references are astonishing, but I was torn about it, the plot itself was generic and very predictable, the Arabic themes made even worse, because every quirky concept the book throws on the reader which is supposedly gonna be mysterious and impress them, didn't work on me, because I'm already familiar with it. But I enjoyed it from a totally different perspective, I very much respect the idea that Frank made us our own epic fantasy that we never got. Why is it not popular in MENA is beyond me.
