>>14656756I still haven't watched the latest season, but the premise is basically that everyone gets trapped in a video game that's now stuck on a time-loop where everything resets when they come close to defeating the main villain, who doesn't want to let everyone out because he's actually a dude and a total loser IRL and his only friend in Karyl who's literally just a 13-year-old he was grooming. I am not making this shit up; the bad guy is basically a discord troon.
The first season revealed that the anime is one of the failed time-loops, which is why there's so much focus on slice-of-life and fun stuff because they're all doomed to fail in the end. The game, Re:Dive, revolves around the characters getting their IRL memories back and trying to break the time-loop.
