>>14692657I was on /qa/ during the time the spinoff raiders arrived, and I loved them, and a large portion of /qa/ posters felt the same way since they had similar sentiments.
/qa/ filled in a niche that 4chan needed ofr years, the random anime posting niche, it was that niche missing why these spinoffs existed in the first place. I guess /bant/ filled that niche better when it was created.
I don't think they created a lot of OC, they just used the board to discuss and share various topics. But they were quite proficient at that, a lot of the knowledge I have about japanese/otaku culture I have inferred from them.
I did not even realise that they got the boot because of how deep I was into /bant/ at that time. The problem with them was that they were bruteforcing the culture, while on /bant/ it was entirely organic. When /qa/ was deleted, the posters from there were (and still are) trying to bruteforce their culture here in the same manner, and got booted by the mods for it. It would be hypocritical now for them to accuse the posters here of anything of that sort.
All in all I think that old-/qa/'s posting culture was better, since they cared more about the quality of threads and the posting culture, but instead of just bitching about how bad of a poster everyone is they took in their own hands to spam off everything that doesn't fit in from the board, every idiot that was just shitting up the place, and for that I respect them, but I gues the mods got mad that they did their job better than them.
