I recently was released from prison on a 15-year sentence for 1st degree home invasion. In just 2 short years, I was able to walk out of state prison for excellent behavior.
>What did you do to get out of prison so fast?
I opened a literature club and taught my fellow prisoners how to read, write, and formulate short passages. I spent my free time lifting weights, tossing the ball around, and cleaning voluntarily.
>Who were you before prison?
I was a gun-totin', free-willin', rebel with nothing but a gat in my pocket and a baby momma who looked down on me for my ways.
>Who are you now that you're out of prison?
Within the first few months of leaving prison, I landed a job as cart boy at my local shopping center. I worked my way up through the rankings and became regional vice president and on the verge of another promotion to president of regional operations. I just re-mortgaged my house in a high-income, well rated school district and am currently looking for contractors to give me an estimate on a new 4 door car-garage so that we can park the family RV inside during the winters.
My wife and I just have three little girls, and she's currently pregnant with my first son! In my spare time I toy with my 401k contributions and like to wax the RV whenever I can find time in my busy 70 hour work schedule. We are soon planning a vacation to Guam!
>Murphy, what's the morale of this story?
That anyone, anywhere, no matter what race can become 'the ideal' person and that race is nothing but an imaginary barrier created in our minds. Heck, I'm living proof
