but then you could argue that even in fiction intended for children, the good guys and the bad guys are not as clear as black and white, harry potter's uncle told him that the world isn't divided into good people and death eaters, but there is light and dark inside all of us and it is what we choose to act on that makes us who we are. And in Marvel comics, there are many villains with sympathetic, even noble backstories and motivations, and anti-heroes like the Punisher and Dead Pool who do morally questionable things to defeat the bad guys.
