When Christ said
>For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Christ did not mean he would be the source of the division, but rather he would expose what would be the source of the division. Christ is the physical embodiment of the truth, and thus the “division” he brings is that of those who know the truth, and those who do not.

Look at the vaccine fiasco over the past year. Did you not see family members turning on each other, distancing or disowning their family for not taking the jab? Those who did not take it did so because they knew it to be harmful, the truth. But those who took it did not accept the truth, and instead driven by fear of pressure.

It is wrong to state that this statement by Jesus is anti family, or even under broader interpretations anti nationalistic or anti ethnocentric. Rather Christ, being the truth, and the light, is simply exposing an existing rift, one whose outcome will determine either one rising or falling, physically and spiritually.
