Are you confusing imagination with reality again? Religion can provide comfort and understanding of the world, but until you cease to be neurons no one really knows what happens even if they claim they do.

There's nothing wrong with Atheism but it is usually a lack of knowledge that results in atheistic ideals and this same lack of knowledge results in those who are religious to see atheists as a "problem".

I completely understand all the variables as to why there is a push to prevent people from seeking their own biological immortality but my question was: Is /bant/ making the same mistake and falling for the same cycles?

Atheists are a problem only due to their contribution to the elimination of knowledge from the world. It's influence is destructive to the Godhead, and in England, this destruction is commonplace.
As for immortality, give anyone enough money and they'll try to get it.
