I have a HARD rule against flirting with employees because they're literally paid to be nice, but recently I noticed a bosnian girl that works in the vegtebale section to be kinda 'staring' at me when I enter the mall. None of the other employees does that. Even when the place was bustling she was eyeing me from afar until our eyes would meet, followed by me chickening-out pretending I'm busy with shopping. But yesterday I saw her (peripherally) looking at me and stared back at her, I could see she was smiling with her eyes from afar, I walked down the aisle we kept looking in each others eyes, she muffled something but her voice cracked and eyes crinkling hard as we passed.

When I was at college eye contact+smile would mean interest, but she's a warehouse worker there so the environment is different and I don't know what to think about it to avoid potential cringe situation.
