I’m a Generation Z’er who turned 18 around October. I’ve noticed ever since I was 17, Anime, video games… and even fiction (any kind of fiction) in general for that matter just don’t appeal to me anymore. I can’t enjoy them at all, there is literally no point in these things existing in of themselves. It disturbs me for some reason.

you sound depressed. either that or you should stop paying attention to mediocre art. there is more out there than just anime and games. go through a classic film phase or do a deep dive into a genre of music. anything that you haven't experienced before is good. one day you'll return to the things you liked when you were a kid and you'll appreciate them much more once you have a broader perspective.

Lol I still listen to music, I’m my fathers son, it’s just something in the background though that sounds nice. And yes I know what high art is; I just can’t appreciate simpler things anymore.

IDK it just kind of bothers me because I’m a rather good writer and I got a lot of good ideas from these things (along with literature, history, and art) even if they were stupid and turned them into rather interesting things that I thought communicated hard to explain concepts to people in good ways. But I can’t use it as a source of inspiration anymore.

I doubt I’ll ever go back. I feel like a spirit knocked me out of my impulse, and took me to the mountain top… and in a few months I’ve seen all the world through my own thoughts, even if nothing was learned, it didn’t matter because I understood the implicit and fleeting and vapid nature of all things, even the most valid concepts; which stands regardless God or not. There’s nothing more to see.

Now that is not what I was thinking of when I made the post, but ever since the refugee crisis in Germany, I have been so hopeless about the future of my country. That is too the source of my depression. These ideals of multiculturalism are completely not worth it. if you live in a homogenous area, you will always be happier.

it's not so much about escaping it as it is about learning to live with it, right? a person with a depressive personality can't stop themselves from going through occasional bouts of depression, but they can still learn to be happy and have purpose in life. it may be an atypical happiness and purpose, but it is happiness and purpose nonetheless. people are imperfect creatures and accepting your innate imperfections is the first step to overcoming them.
it may sound like i'm repeating a bunch of platitudes, but thinking like this has helped me move forward in life.

Is depression really chronic? I hope I don't have that.
But if I have that, I guess I have to deal with it. I already learned how to deal with autism. The pain that that brought me, the pain of the loss of my innocence, I won't have to go through that again.

you are simply being manipulated by your psyche because you have too much free time. Memories are not real problems. You have neet sickness, and you must learn to keep it at bay. I am the strongest man I have ever encountered but even I struggle with neet sickness, but because I understand it I do not fall into "random depression" again, I am simply being attacked by my body because the human body is flawed and often combats the soul.

It is true, that is what it is.
My mind has been too scattered
I will have an apprenticeship in august, so maybe things will change from then on.

keeping in mind that my consciousness was being attacked by my bodily functions and that there is no real problem helped me immensely, but I believe going to the gym is the most important part, because it repairs many of the problems that modern men have. A lot of the miscellaneous suffering can be caused by lacking testosterone or sleep. Try to have faith that things will get better, even if it's true that we must do what is necessary and remain perceptive to achieve that.
