>>14890851>to new york in 2016 so i dont know nowNew York is much worse now, since then they have decided that they are no longer going to punish people for petty crimes, nor are they going to make people who have more severe crimes post bail (basically a deposit that says "I'm paying you to get out of jail and going to be good until my court date, or I lose all this money I'm paying you). So the end result is that people can more or less steal and hurt each other about as much as they want and nothing can be done about it.
It's apparently so bad in some places there that they have resorted to locking up everything, including stuff like toothpaste and such.
Even with the huge dysfunction in the rest of the country, we're all looking at New York and Los Angeles and the other cities that have adopted these policies and are wondering who exactly thought these were good ideas.
And I'm saying that as someone who currently lives in Atlanta, which is also a shithole.
