>>14918084It's amazing, but people associate it with nuclear bombs (which is the dumbest thing) and are scared of things like Chernobyl and Fukushima happening again (which is also pretty dumb). I don't wanna go on too long a rant, so I'll just give you a few points about nuclear energy:
1. Generates a shitton of power from very little material.
2. The only waste is solid, nothing goes to the atmosphere, except normal, clean water vapour (not irradiated or anything like that).
3. Nuclear waste isn't only generated by nuclear power plants, stuff like smoke detectors generate a bit of it too.
4. Chernobyl is literally irreproducible, since it was the only nuclear power plant ever built in a way that allowed what happened there to occur. Commies wanted to make some plutonium for bombs at the side iirc.
5. There have been hundreds of nuclear power plants working for decades, yet only two real accidents. Many, many, MANY more people have died due to operation and supply of conventional power plants, even if you consider how many people work in each industry.
6. We simply cannot afford the time and money to build enough reusable power sources like windmills or solar power plants right now, we gotta stop making the climate change worse, and do it fast. It will already be bad in a few decades, we don't wanna make it even worse. Once there are no conventional power plants, that's when we oughta think about replacing the nuclear ones.
7. There are 56 nuclear power plants in France alone, and yet we never hear anything about them going wrong.
8. People are dumb.
9. Politicians are smart and egoistic, so they'd rather feed the people's fears and get the conventional power industry's approval instead of actually trying to fix shit.
10. I hate people.
Guess it kinda turned into a rant anyway. I really hate people.
