in elden ring for example sorcery is incredibly strong from the get go, but it requires you to recognize that it's because enemies are so reactive to your inputs so spells with delays cause bosses to waste time dodging then get hit anyway. you can also boost your damage output dramatically by running straight to caelid and picking up a certain staff, but you have to know about it first
could always back up the work you've done recently then take your whole system to a restore point if you have one
