I sent my daughter off to college reluctantly. My entire social network just sort of pressured me to do it, including my wife. I would be seen as a bad father if i didn't do it and it hasn't even been a year yet and she's already ruined by it. This was honestly the worst mistake I've ever made.
She still goes to Church and considers herself Conservative but she is now dating a guy almost four years older than her who's graduating, he has some really fucked up views. He's a liberal socialist who said that all deformed babies or babies with down syndrome or don't measure up to some "genetic standard" should be aborted. I know for a fact she's been to parties with him where she has drank alcohol underage and has played drinking games because I overheard her on the phone mention a drinking card game to someone and it really sounded like she played it. And she's already talking about moving in with him because he's going to start working now and can can get a place, even though she agreed to live at home for her four years of college. And now i can't even punish her for this stuff because she has this guy to take her in if i kick her out, so I've lost control as a father.
It's literally every parents nightmare but the culture surrounding this is so strong that you almost have no choice, but deep down I know I did.
