kinda depends on the computer you have and what you typically use it for

If it's just stuff like 4chan youtube gmail etc then install Mint, but if you game a lot or you use it for anything serious just stick with windows/mac

It is configured so that it does not phone home to any server by default (unlike firefox). It also has plugins that help you with your privacy (and make some websites work when you have js disabled). The most useful one with no js is the reveal hidden html plugin.
