i'd say 50%+ of them got encouraged by media legends of other serial killers and are a perfect example of hysteria media causing untold damage to society at large. its like school shooters. do you think even most of those would bother if it didn't get them in the news and they didn't get to larp as demonic evil badasses and get as much attention as possible?

i remember this brazilian killer who specifically was killing just to be a serial killer
