Equity is abomination in the long game, but the problem with cheap beef, it was designed to force the rancher into a position where he was losing money on his cattle, to force consolidation of the beef industry under the aegis of a few absolutely corrupt megaproducers who will revert to conditions written about in The Jungle, while demanding premium prices.
