My theory is that someone just made it up to get out of work one day and it caught on. Doesn't it sound like something that someone would make up on the spot?

Is it airborne?">"You get it from .. .. eating ... raw eggs?"It all just sounds so fake. Nobody in my family has ever encountered it in hundreds of years of eating raw eggs daily so it either doesn't exist or you do not get it from raw eggs.
