>>15269806it's a really great game, it just didn't have enough staying power unfortunately. lost ark pvp has a lot of the same appeals but being atatched to an mmo makes it a bit more tiresome overall
they basically kept the core combat identical to battlerite and used that as a basis for everything else which is a really genius decision since, in my opinion, battlerite had perfect combat anyway
the pvp survival rpg shell works really well for it too, i think. you get a lot of customization since each of the 5 weapons has unique move sets and you can hotswap weapons in the middle of combat. on top of that you get 4 weapon-independent moves and a lot of the progressions comes from unlocking new ones
so it's a really solid balance between rust-style loot progression that you risk losing whenever you leave your base and rpg-style skill tree progression. really lets you have the thrill of getting a huge leap in progression by dumpstering someone with better gear than you without making time invested totally irrelevant
there's also a lot of really smart small decisions, like the fact that it has fast travel but you can't use it if you have any crafting materials on you. that means they can make the map way bigger and more unique since you can just teleport to where you need to go without risking all your weapons walking from point A to point B, but once you're done looting you still need to manually walk it home and avoid dying. also makes your base location way less important than games like rust since getting where you need to go becomes trivial and it's just getting back that's hard
