I blame TikTok. I'm an ancient zoomer (1997) and there was only 1 girl who said she pan and "genderfluid". Other than that it was mostly just girls saying they were bi and shit. You see webm's of high school age boys wearing cat ears and shit and it's like a clown show. I went to a somewhat rural high school and if anyone did that when I was in school they would've been the laughing stock of the place.
I'm bi myself fwiw but I definitely didn't tell anyone when I was in high school and it took until 2020 till I even admitted it to myself. Not even out except to my mother, but she doesn't really count.
